Our policy

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). When we receive a valid notice, we act promptly to remove or disable access to the material concerned where it is within our control.

Sending a notice

Your written notice should include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for them.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  3. A description of the material you believe is infringing and enough detail for us to locate it (for example, the channel name, title, or the web address where it appears).
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages.

Counter-notices

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice including:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we end the service of customers who repeatedly infringe copyright.
